Campgrounds in the Lake George Region of New York
Lake George, in New York's Adirondack Mountains, draws those looking for outdoor activity all year round. Summer means boating, hiking, fishing and whitewater rafting. With the changing of the seasons, winter brings cross-country skiing, sledding and maple sugaring. Bird watching and nature activities are available year round.

Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites

Located in the town of Lake George, Whippoorwill Motel & Campsites features 48 sites each with electrical and water hookups. In addition there are four full hookup sites. Private hot showers and dumping station use is included at no extra fee. Amenities at Whippoorwill Campsites include a swimming pool, basketball court, and game room. There is direct access from the campground to the Warren County Bike Trail, a paved non-motor path that stretches from Glenn Falls to Lake George Village, although parts of the path travel over local roads.

Lake George Battleground Campground

Lake George Battleground Campground is situated one-quarter mile south of the village of Lake George. It is open from early May through Columbus Day. The campground features 68 tent and trailer sites, bathrooms and shower facilities, and a dump station. Swimming is available at the Lake George Beach Day-Use Facility. Popular activities at the campground include hiking, canoeing and mountain climbing.

King Phillip's Campground

King Phillip's Campground features sites for tent campers, pop-up trailers and pull-through sites for large RVs. All sites have access to water and many are full hookup with cable TV. Laundry and private shower facilities are available on-site. An arcade and playground are available for children. King Phillips's location, two miles south of the southern terminus of Lake George, allows convenience for anglers. But, hikers will have the most reason to stay here. The campground adjoins a large swath or forest.

Hearthstone Point Campground

Hearthstone Point Campground is located on the lake, two miles North of Lake George Village. It features 251 tent and trailer sites. The camping season runs from mid-May through mid-September. Hot showers and flush toilets are available on-site, as well as a dump station for travel trailers and RVs. Swimming on Lake George is available along a sand beach, although lifeguards are unavailable some days. The park's shoreline on Lake George is perfect for fishing for trout, salmon, bass and pike.
