Campgrounds near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania
Valley Forge is famous as the historic site where the Continental Army under General Washington suffered through the winter of 1777-78. The modern historical park not only preserves many important historical sites but also makes the most of the lush southeastern Pennsylvania countryside with hiking and biking trails, as well as boating and fishing. While the national park does not offer camping, a handful of surrounding parks and campgrounds do.

Brandywine Creek Campground

This is a lightly wooded campground sits alongside Brandywine Creek and offers a mix of RV and tent-camping sites. Its camping facilities include a coin laundry and bathhouse. Other amenities include a swimming pool, playground, basketball court, private lake with fishing and free Wi-Fi access. The campground is roughly 15 miles west of Valley Forge.

French Creek State Park

French Creek State Park offers a variety of camping options. The main campground has 201 sites in a lightly wooded setting, of which 140 are without hookups and are primarily tent sites. The park also has a pair of yurts, which are cabins with wood floors and fabric walls and roofing. The campground is organized into four loops, and its facilities include four shower houses, a dump station, a pet area and a playground. Elsewhere in the park, there are 35 miles of hiking trails, a swimming pool, fishing and boating on two lakes and horseback riding. French Creek State Park is less than 20 miles to the northwest of Valley Forge.

Warwick Woods Campground

Just a few miles to the south of French Creek State Park is the private campground of Warwick Woods. This 82-acre wooded campground has 220 sites divided among separate areas for RV and tent camping. Most sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Warwick Woods' amenities include a private fishing pond, swimming pool, kiddie pool, recreation room, playground and three shower houses. The campground is pet-friendly, provided pets are kept on a short leash.
