Combining a plethora of attractions with several expansive RV parks, Williamsburg, Virginia, is a major destination for RVers of all stripes. First and foremost are the dual historical attractions of Colonial Williamsburg and Colonial National Historical Park. Flanked by the York and James rivers, outdoors lovers will find that the Williamsburg area is surrounded by local, state and national parks and wildlife refuges. Finally, there are numerous water and amusement parks in the area to amuse the kids.

American Heritage RV Park

Situated on a 70-acre property, American Heritage RV Park has a mix of tree-shaded and open RV sites with full hookups (up to 50-amp electricity). Cable TV connections are also available. Seventy sites are pull-through, and there is also a separate tent-camping area. Camping facilities include a central bathhouse, a dump station, firewood and LP gas sales, and a coin laundry. Free Wi-Fi access exists throughout the campground, and the park counts a swimming pool, fenced dog park, miniature golf, a video and book library, and courts for basketball, volleyball and horseshoes among its other amenities.

Anvil Campground

RV sites at the Anvil Campground come equipped with full hookups (up to 50-amp electric), cable TV connections and free Wi-Fi access. All sites come with a picnic table and barbecue grill. Other accommodations include a pair of rental cottages. Amenities include a camp store with firewood sales, free coffee served through the day, video rentals, outdoor swimming pool, three playgrounds, dump station, and courts for basketball and horseshoes. Anvil Campground is conveniently located on the route of a Williamsburg bus line that runs right into the historic center of town.

Williamsburg KOA

Like KOAs everywhere, the 180-acre Williamsburg KOA campground offers a mixture of RV and tent camping sites, as well as rental cabins. This KOA's RV sites have full hookups with up to 50-amp electricity, and the largest sites are 90 feet long. Cable TV connections are available at most, but not all, of the campground's sites. Amenities include free Wi-Fi access, two swimming pools, a camp store with LP gas and firewood sales, multiple playgrounds, four bathhouses, a dump station, snack bar and bicycle rentals.

Williamsburg Pottery Campground

The campground is located on the same property as a major pottery works, and that pottery factory operates its own store with lamps, gardenware and ceramics for sale. The campground itself offers a mix of 550 open and tree-shaded RV sites with full hookups (up to 50-amp electricity). Amenities include a swimming pool and playground. The Williamsburg Pottery Campground closes every year during the winter season.
