RV Campgrounds in the Washington DC Area
Washington, DC is a popular destination for visitors to see our nation's monuments, White House and capitol city. Beyond the Mall and memorials, there are many opportunities for outdoor activities. Hikers, runners, road and mountain cyclists, and kayakers can find areas for their respective sports in the city or region surrounding DC. There are several options for RV campgrounds in the region as well.

Cherry Hill Park

The Cherry Hill Park is in College Park, Maryland and offers both RV and tent campers sites. Tent sites have picnic tables, and fire-rings as well as access to fresh water for cooking and drinking. RV sites can accommodate RVs of most sizes. Hookups include water, sewer, and 30- or 50-amp electric. Pets are allowed but should be leashed in the park. Guests can use the bathrooms and showers, as well as the picnic and barbecue sites. There is a small nature trail for hikers to enjoy. The Cabin John Creek Parklands have almost 14 miles of trails for bikers and hikers and are within 30 minutes drive from Cherry Hill Park.

Capitol KOA

The Capitol KOA has a range of amenities and can accommodate RVs and tent campers. In addition to he convenient location to downtown DC, the Capitol KOA also has nature trails on the grounds, making for a dual benefit for campers. RV sites come with 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer. Wi-Fi and cable TV hookups are available. Showers, bathrooms, games, swimming pool, and a laundry are available for guest use. Pets are allowed, and AAA and Good Sam club discounts are offered for club members. The Potomac River runs nearby and has canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and fishing.

Duncan Family Campground

As the name suggests, the Duncan Family Campground is a family owned and operated RV park and campground. It has been in business and serving RV travelers for 34 years. The park has sites for most size RVs and hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer. There is a dog park for pets to play off leashes. Bathrooms, showers, guest room and a laundry are on the grounds for guest use and comfort. DC's Rock Creek Park has a system of trails for hiking, trail running and mountain biking and is within 20 miles of Duncan Family Campground.
