Fanchers Campgrounds
Located on the eastern side of the lake off Interstate 40 is Fanchers Campgrounds. The campground has sites available year-round. It also has a swimming pool, propane, a laundry facility, and a store on the property that sells food, camping supplies, and RV-related items. A concrete boat ramp provides boaters access to Douglas Lake.

Newport/I-40/ Smoky Mountains KOA Campground
South of Douglas Lake is the Newport/I-40/Smoky Mountains KOA Campground. The campground has RV sites that can accommodate a vehicle or trailer up to 82 feet long, and have electrical and cable TV hookups. The KOA has free Wi-Fi internet access, as well as a meeting room, propane, firewood, fishing, and a swimming pool that is open seasonally between May and September.

Mountain Cove Marina and RV Park
On the western side of Douglas Lake is Mountain Cove Marina and RV Park. The park has campsite spaces for recreational vehicles between 30 and 60 feet long. All of the sites have hookups for electricity and water. There is also a dump station, bath and shower facilities, laundry, and a camp store. For those who want to access the lake, a boat launch, covered slips, and pontoon boat rentals are available.

Ripplin Waters Campground
Also located on the western side of Douglas Lake off of the Winfield Dunn Parkway is the Ripplin Waters Campground, which has 156 sites with full hookup services. Among those campsites, 50 are located along the Little Pigeon River. The campground has bath-houses, laundry facilities, a swimming pool, arcade, and propane gas. There are also church services held on-site.
