RV Parks near Slidell, LA
Slidell, Louisiana, is just north of New Orleans across Lake Pontchartrain. There are several parks and wildlife areas nearby, such as the Pearl River State Wildlife Management Area and the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area. Also nearby is Fontainebleau State Park, and to the north is the De Soto National Forest. These areas offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, including hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, boating and fishing.

New Orleans East Kampground

Located in Slidell, the New Orleans East Kampground has 135 campsites available. Most of these sites have full hookups for recreational vehicles. It has free Wi-Fi access, a dump station, propane, a dumpster for trash, laundry facilities, showers, and a dog-run area. The campground also has a swimming pool, mega checkers and chess and car rentals.

Sun Roamers RV Resort

The Sun Roamers RV Resort is north of Slidell. The resort has 142 sites with full hookups on both concrete and gravel pads. There is also free Wi-Fi access, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a laundry facility, a dump station, showers, restrooms, a chapel with non-denominational services and a clubhouse. Fishing, horseshoe-throwing and putt-putt golf also are available.

Clearwater RV Park and Campground

Also north of Slidell is the Clearwater RV Park, which has 65 sites for recreational vehicles with full hookups. Pull-thorough sites are available as well as sites that can accommodate large RVs. Clearwater RV Park has Wi-Fi access, propane, firewood and fire rings, picnic tables and a small general store that sells RV supplies. Activities at the park include movies, horseshoes, karaoke, indoor shuffleboard and a bingo night.

Fontainebleau State Park

West of Slidell along Lake Ponchartrain is Fontainebleau State Park, which is operated by the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. The park has 143 campsites that range from premium to primitive. The premium sites have electrical and water hookups, with a few that have sewer hookups as well. The improved sites just have water and electrical hookups, while the unimproved and primitive sites do not have hookups. Fontainebleau State Park also has a dump station, picnic areas, laundry area, fishing pier, restrooms, tennis courts and interpretive programs.
