Byron, Georgia, is just south of Macon, and the neighboring communities have many RV parks to offer. Each park has a specific blend of amenities, from superior access to the conveniences of home to a greater number of recreational activities. The towns themselves have facilities where visitors can play sports or explore local waterways.

Fair Harbor RV Park & Campground

Fair Harbor is only 15 miles south of Byron, in Perry. The park has monthly and group rates available. The 150 sites offer full hookups, free Wi-Fi and cable, and almost every site has an instant phone connection. An open pavilion with picnic tables is provided for outdoor dining, and the main lodge sits overlooking the park pond. While the park sits on 100 acres of woods, it is convenient to local dining and shopping. Travelers can take advantage of several city parks. The 29-acre Creekwood Park Recreation Center houses a swimming facility where guests can swim or take swimming lessons. Rozar Park offers two ponds. The parks have ball fields, basketball courts and tennis courts.

Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground

Twin Oaks is found in Elko, 27 miles south of Byron. The park offers landscaping filled with ornamental trees and flowers and hosts many special events. Guests will experience convenient interstate access and a highly rated park. Each site offers a concrete patio and picnic table. The pull-through sites are capable of handling big rigs up to 90 feet in length. Full hookups are available with 30- and 50- amp electric and free high-speed wireless Internet service. Propane is sold on site. The park provides a clubhouse, heated pool and hot tub for leisure pursuits. Challenge your partner at one of the outdoor games, volleyball or basketball on the grounds or take a day trip. North Peach Park in Byron has a walking track, ball fields and pits for playing horseshoes, along with tennis, volleyball and basketball courts.

Forsyth KOA

The Forsyth KOA is 33 miles north of Byron. The campground has pull-through sites up to 100 feet long, with 50-amp service, cable television and wireless Internet available. LP gas and firewood are sold on site. The park has many outdoor activities, including basketball and volleyball. Guests can swim in the pool, try a pedal boat or rent a bicycle. For a day of adventure, Ocmulgee River expeditions are possible. Local outfitters rent kayaks, canoes and additional gear, as well as handling transportation.
