Queen Wilhelmina Lodge

Queen Wilhelmina Lodge, known also as the "Castle in the Sky," is situated on Rich Mountain, Arkansas' second highest peak. The resort is in the midst of Queen Wilhelmina State Park, which provides trails for hiking and backpacking, like Lover's Leap Trail, Reservoir Trail and the renowned Ouachita Trail, a 225-mile path that extends through northern Arkansas. The lodge is approximately 30 minutes from Lake Wilhelmina, which has facilities for fishing and boating. Queen Wilhelmina Lodge has a true alpine, mountain resort atmosphere with fireplaces in the guestrooms and balconies that overlook the mountains. The on-site Queen's Restaurant serves Southern-style cooking. Queen Wilhelmina State Park has sites for camping and RV parking.

Shadowrock Log Cabin Resort

Shadowrock Log Cabin Resort consists of three cabins--Savannah, Whiskey Peak and Old Glory--that feature fully furnished kitchens and bathrooms, queen-sized beds, living room areas with sofa sleepers. The Savannah cabin has a fireplace. The resort supplies each cabin with water from its on-site well. Guests who stay at Shadowrock can ride ATVs at Wolf Pen Gap ATV Trails, which is five minutes away. The trails at Wolf Pen Gap span over 40 miles and cater to experienced ATV riders, as well as beginners. The resort is near the Athens-Big Fork Trail, a historic path that is open for hiking and horseback riding.
