The city of Long Beach, just 29 miles outside of New York City, is often used as a getaway for urban dwellers eager to escape the hustle and bustle of big-city living. Given its location on the Atlantic Ocean and its choice beaches, Long Beach is traditionally a travel destination for lovers of water sports. Lido Kosher Delicatessen

Lido Kosher Delicatessen operates both a deli where you can dine in or carry out, and a store that ships its food products anywhere in the United States. Some of Lido Kosher's choice menu items include veggie burgers on toasted sesame buns, tongue and eggs, vegetarian schnitzel, fresh chopped liver on a bed of lettuce, hot turkey with gravy open sandwich, Nova Scotia salmon platter and Hungarian beef goulash over noodles. All of Lido's menu items are produced under the strict supervision of Va'ad Harabonin Lemeshrmet Hakashrut, a New York rabbinical organization that oversees kosher kitchens. Sabra Kosher Pizza

Seven miles outside of Long Beach in neighboring Cedarhurst, you can enjoy the offerings of this kosher pizzeria. Sabra Kosher Pizza offers numerous kosher pizzas, including vegetarian choices. Even vegans will be satisfied with the cheeseless vegetable pizza. Sabra Kosher Pizza does whole pies as well as pizza by the slice. Some of their more popular pizzas include the Sicilian, vegetarian, spinach and Portobello mushroom. In addition, Sabra Kosher Pizza also makes knishes (choose from cherry-cheese, potato and kasha), latkes, baked ziti, tuna pasta and a variety of salads. The restaurant's daily offering of soups often includes such favorites as mushroom barley, split pea, lentil, tomato rice and potato bean. Still hungry? Choose from apricot crumb cake, vanilla or chocolate pudding, rice pudding, jello and sesame cookies for dessert. Sabra Kosher Pizza also does catering.
