General Lewis Inn and Restaurant
Located in Lewisburg, the General Lewis Inn and Restaurant occupies the site of an 1862 Civil War battle. In fact, the whole town shares that distinction. The General Lewis Inn and Restaurant opened for business in 1929. You won't find cookie-cutter rooms at the General Lewis; each has a distinct style. Most beds in the inn have survived a hundred years or more (but each mattress has been replaced). The inn comprises 25 guest rooms, living area, and restaurant. The inn seems like a miniature museum dedicated to the history of Lewisburg. The restaurant serves rustic meals such as fried chicken, mountain trout, and country ham.
