RV Private Campgrounds on Lake Champlain, New York
Upstate New York's Lake Champlain region has been drawing outdoor lovers and RV campers for years. The lake and its tributaries are the setting for canoeing, sailing and fishing, while the surrounding forests are home to hiking and biking trails. Many RV campers like to set up their rigs at campgrounds with views of Lake Champlain itself, and there are a number of camping sites that can accommodate them.

Monty's Bay Campsites

Open between May 1st and October 15th, Monty's Bay is situated between Plattsburgh (the area's major city) and the Canadian border. The campground has RV sites with full hook-ups. Its features and facilities include a quarter mile of shoreline with a swimming beach, baseball field, volleyball court, playground, boat ramp, shower house, coin laundry and camp store.

Plattsburgh RV Park

Located just outside of Plattsburg itself, this RV park grants easy access to the services of the area's largest city while still offering a wooded campground right on Lake Champlain. Plattsburgh RV Park has 170 sites, most of them equipped with full hook-ups. The park also has other accommodations in the form of rental cabins. Its facilities include clubhouse, outdoor swimming pool, fishing and duck pond, miniature golf, and courts for volleyball, horseshoes and shuffleboard. The park is also within walking distance of a municipal beach.

Ausable Pines RV Park and Campground

Located on the lake's southern end, this wooded campground has RV sites with full hook-ups (30-amp electricity). Facilities include a shower house and outdoor swimming pool. The park has an arrangement with neighboring Kayak Shack for the delivery of rental boats and kayaks straight to the park's boat dock. It also has a camp store with firewood and bait.

Barber Homestead Park

Also situated on Lake Champlain's southern end, Barber Homestead Park has 40 RV sites. All of the sites have water and electrical hook-ups, as well as individual picnic tables and fire rings, but only half have sewage. However, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the camp, and the facilities and features include a TV room, swimming pool, dump station, camp store with RV supplies and firewood sales, shower house and coin laundry.
