Garfield County, Colorado is in the west-central section of the state and has a variety of wild lands and parks. Flat Tops Wilderness, Grand Mesa National Forest, and Harvey Gap State Park are just a few of the parks and protected lands in the county. Visitors will find mountain biking, road biking, hiking, rock-climbing, and bouldering opportunities in the region. The western portion of Garfield County is near Grand Junction and Fruita. Elk Creek Campground

The Elk Creek Campground offers RV travelers a country setting with many amenities. Hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer and options for cable TV. Pets are allowed if leashed. There are bathrooms and showers, picnic facilities, and a laundry room. The Elk Creek is only 15 minutes from Glenwood Springs where there are hot spring-fed pools, hiking, and cave tours. The River Dance Resort is in a convenient location for anglers, kayakers and rafters. There are opportunities for water activities, as the Eagle River flows by the campgrounds. Glenwood Springs is only a few miles away, where there are natural hot springs to soak in. Pets are allowed. Glenwood Canyon Resort

The Glenwood Canyon Resort is close to the hot springs where visitors can enjoy hot-springs fed pools. Hiking and biking trails, as well as cross-country and downhill skiing venues are all within 15 minutes of the resort. RVs can be accommodated with either pull-through or back-in sites. Hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are options. Pets are allowed if leashed and guests can use the resorts pools, showers, bathrooms and laundry.
