Located on the Swinomish Channel, the small town of La Conner, Washington has become a popular vacation destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Originating as a trading post in 1867, the town is the oldest settlement in Skagit County and still contains a number of the original Victorian buildings. A year-round attraction and one of the most popular spots in the Northwest, the area is an outdoor mecca for kayaking on the Swinomish Channel and Skagit River, and for hiking the trails of Pioneer Park.

Situated on the beach at Puget Sound, the Thousand Trails La Conner Resort offers a peaceful camping getaway set among 111 acres of preserve. Campers are not only centrally located to hiking trails and ocean kayaking opportunities on the sounds, but are also only five minutes from the heart of downtown La Conner. Resort amenities include an adult center, baseball field, basketball court, boat launch, food service, horseshoe pits, laundry facilities, spa, mini-golf and Wi-Fi access for all guests. Each of the 56 RV sites features full hookups, 220 power and water.

Advance Resorts of America -- Potlatch Resort

Advance Resorts of America's Potlatch Resort is located at the North Basin Marina just outside of La Conner. The resort offers a launch ramp for kayaks and close proximity to hiking trails in Pioneer Park. There are 68 RV campsites, and resort amenities include an indoor swimming pool, two hot tubs, on-site fitness room, kitchen facilities, dining area and a guest laundry facility. All sites include full hookups with 220 power and water.

Bay View State Park

Located 10 miles from La Conner in Mt. Vernon, the Bay View State Park occupies 25 acres and boasts over 1,200 feet of saltwater shoreline on Padilla Bay. The park is an ideal home base for day kayak trips into Padilla Bay and exploration of the 11,000 acres of the Estuarine Sanctuary. Nature lovers may enjoy the Breazeale Padilla Bay Interpretive Center that is within walking distance from the campground. RV campsites for rigs up to 60 feet in length are available with views of the bay and the surrounding estuary. All sites include a picnic table, grill, and hookups for utilities. Bay View's beach area is also an ideal area for swimming, but the area is unmanned by lifeguards. Windy days also make the shoreline of Bay View an ideal spot for sailboarding.
