Restaurants in Niagara Falls, New York
One of North America's top tourist destinations, the mighty Niagara Falls have inspired visitors from around the world. While the main attraction is without question the Falls themselves, Niagara also offers excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation, whether it's hiking through the Upper Great Gorge or bird watching on the Niagara River. The city of Niagara Falls is also home to a number of excellent restaurants, some of which have stunning views of the falls. Though fast food chains dominate much of the city, many local establishments that have been around for decades are still going strong.

Buzzy's

Buzzy's has been Niagara's favorite neighborhood pizza joint since 1953. Choose from 30 different pies, subs, calzones and hoagies, all prepared in classic New York style. Buzzy's also offers a nice variety of tasty finger foods, including mini-tacos, jalapeno cheddar poppers and breaded mozzarella sticks served with homemade tomato sauce. And no trip to upstate New York would be complete without trying some authentic Buffalo style chicken wings. Buzzy's "plump 'n juicy" wings are fresh, not frozen, and come with your choice of 10 different sauces, including mild, medium, hot, extra hot. and suicide. Buzzy's legendary condiment is served with a special warning: "Suicide sauce is very hot--No Refunds or Exchanges."

The Como Restaurant

Billing itself as "a tradition as popular as The Falls itself," this authentic family-run Italian restaurant has been serving the city of Niagara since 1927. With a stone fire place and plastic grapes hanging from the ceiling, The Como has an unpretentious, familiar atmosphere that many Italian-American restaurants have. The mostly Southern Italian fare includes all the classics and more: fettucini alfredo, chicken cacciatore, veal Parmesan and more. If you come with a large group, order the family style dinner, which includes enough appetizers, main entrees and desserts to keep everyone happy. The Como also has a second, smaller branch near the Niagara Falls International Airport.

Top of the Falls

If it's a view of the Falls you're seeking, Top of the Falls is the place to be. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Horseshoe Falls through the floor-to-ceiling windows or outdoor dining deck at this gorgeously set restaurant inside Niagara Falls State Park. With a view this spectacular, even mediocre food might taste good. But Top of The Falls may surprise you with its simple yet satisfying menu. Choose from cafe favorites such as New York strip steak, Niagara fish and chips, or crispy chicken quesadillas. Despite its romantic setting, Top of the Falls is really a family restaurant and even offers a kids menu. Top of the Falls is closed from October through early May.
