Fayetteville, Arkansas is known as the "Track Capital of the World" because Fayetteville is home to University of Arkansas' track and field program. The city of Fayetteville has a large network of paved bicycle and walking trails. The trail system currently consists of 15 miles of paved trails, with plans to expand the trail system by three to four miles annually (33 miles by 2015) in order to connect neighborhoods, parks, recreation, and shopping areas. The most hiked trails include Walker Park Trail and Lake Fayetteville Park Trail.

Devil's Den State Park

Devil's Den State Park offers 17 cabins, each including sofa-bed, fireplace, full kitchen (complete with utensils), air-conditioning and heating, satellite television and BBQ grill. Cabins range in size from studio to three-bedroom. Devil's Den State Park is 12 miles from Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Amongst the cabins are many trails. Some of the more popular trails are the 15-mile Butterfield Hiking Trail that is of moderate difficulty. Cross Country Mountain Bike Trail is a three to 15 mile bike trail with scenic views and creek crossings of moderate difficulty. Devil's Den self-guided trail is a one and one-half miles hiking trail with two caves, springs and waterfalls.

Lake Wedington Cabins & Group Lodge

Lake Wedington Cabins has six cabins and a group meeting lodge, each including fireplace, cable television, air-conditioning and heating and kitchen with utensils. Cabins are constantly cared for with the help of volunteers and U.S. Forest Service staff.

Lake Wedington is a 1,102-acre lake located 13 miles from Fayetteville. Lake Wedington Cabins are within a quarter-mile of the lake; fishing, boating, swimming and hiking are all within walking distance on this property.

Sky-Vue Lodge Cabins Bed and Breakfast

Sky-Vue Lodge Cabins has seven cabins, each with air-conditioning and heating, cable television, either a back porch or picture window with a view of the Boston Mountains, full kitchen and fireplace. From March to November, guests at the cabins receive a complimentary full country breakfast. The cabins are 23 miles from Fayetteville.

Devil's Den State Park, excellent for hiking, exploring caves and swimming, is 17 miles from Sky-Vue Lodge Cabins. Within walking distance is Lake Fort Smith State Park provides hiking and biking trails with various levels of difficulty.

The Cabins at Big Springs

There are five cabins at The Cabins at Big Springs, each including Jacuzzi, high-speed Internet access, modern and fully-stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, wood-burning fireplace, gas grill and satellite television. Bentonville is 30 miles from Fayetteville.

Guests at these five cabins have direct access to the Big Springs Walking Trail. Biking trails and fishing streams are nearby.
