Hikers can get quite a bit of exercise just strolling through the area, but to really work up a sweat, visit one of the parks and trails just a short trip from the area. The Allegany State Park offers the Black Snake Trail or for a more scenic view, hike the Botanical Gardens or the Clarence Escarpment Sanctuary. After a day on the trails, satisfy your appetite at one of the Seaport's many restaurants. From casual to foreign cuisine, there is something for every hiker's tastes.

Based in South Street Seaport, the Fish Market NYC offers casual lunch and dinner seven days a week. Fuel up with hearty entrees such as a 20 oz., juicy rib-eye, fish & chips, Guinness barbecue short ribs and penne pasta. Lighter fare such as sandwiches (seafood po boy, tuna steak, burger) and salads also are available or choose from appetizers including fried oysters, fried mac & cheese, popcorn shrimp and wing dings. Carmine's at the Seaport serves Italian food for lunch and dinner every day. Choose from entrees such as veal parmigana and chicken piccata. Being in the midst of the South Street Seaport, the restaurant also specializes in seafood such as fried filet of sole, scungilli, calimari marinara and sauteed scallops. You may be in New York's South Street Seaport, but duck into Jim Brady's and you'll feel like you've been transported to Ireland.
