Campgrounds in Mears, Michigan
Mears, Michigan is a small town that borders the shore line of Lake Michigan and is home to Silver Lake State Park and Silver Lake. This area is a popular camping destination with several large campgrounds located around Silver Lake and nearby. Silver Lake State Park has a section of sand dunes where guests can explore with their off road vehicle as well as fishing and boating opportunities in Silver Lake.

Sandy Shores Campground

Sandy Shores Campground is four miles southwest of downtown Mears directly on Silver Lake. It offers 180 feet of private beach, 200 shaded campsites and convenient location next to Silver Lake State Park. Camp sites include water, electric and a picnic table along with a fire ring and sewer on select sites. Facility amenities include modern restrooms and showers as well as a camp store and outdoor pool area. Silver Lake State Park has a boat ramp that guests can use to access the lake where there is quality fishing for panfish and largemouth bass. Hiking trails are also nearby in the park within a quarter mile walk from the campground.

Cottonwood Creek RV Resort and Campground

Cottonwood Creek RV Resort is located between downtown Mears and Silver Lake State Park with less then a two mile drive to either. It offers shaded grass camp sites that include electric and water hook-ups as well as a picnic table and fire pit. Facility amenities include modern bathrooms, spacious private showers and organized family activities. There is a small playground for the children as well as a volleyball pit and manicured hiking trails. Guests have access to fishing in Cottonwood Creek that runs through the property along with fishing in Silver Lake which has a public boat launch and is only two miles away.

Silver Lake Resort and Campground

Silver Lake Resort and Campground is located less then a mile from Silver Lake and just four miles from Downtown Mears. It offers several camp site options which include full-hookup, primitive and seasonal sites along with rental cabins. Facility amenities include a modern restroom building, two shower buildings and a camp store along with an outdoor pavilion and pool area.
There is also a playground for the children and outdoor picnic area with tables and gazebos. Guests have access to a catch-and-release stocked fishing pond where they can fish for bluegill and bass. The campground is only a half-mile from the entrance to the ORV dune area of Silver Lake State Park.
