Vietnamese Restaurants in Dallas, Texas

Vietnamese Restaurants in Dallas, Texas
Dallas is one of the 10 largest cities in the United States. Known for its flat terrain, heat and humidity, this Texas metropolis is still popular with outdoor enthusiasts due to its parks, and hiking and biking trails. Hike White Rock Lake's almost 10-mile trail or bike the Northaven Trail. Enjoy the beautiful gardens at the Arboretum and walk the nature trails at Cedar Ridge Preserve. Dallas is known for its restaurants and the city's Vietnamese eateries are some of the best.

Steel

This ultra-modern, chic restaurant serves traditional Vietnamese cuisine as well as dishes with contemporary twists. Start with the Bo Tai Chanh (Vietnamese beef tartar) or Cha Gio (Vietnamese egg rolls). For an entree, you can't go wrong with vegetables and tofu in a clay pot, pork dumplings, fried fish or Bo Luc Lac (Vietnamese 'shaken beef').

The restaurant also has an extensive Japanese and Korean menu, with delights such as Korean beef, Japanese bento boxes and seaweed salad. Steel's large wine and sake menu will surely please and, of course, don't miss brandy fruit foster or chocolate volcano cake for dessert. Steel is a marvelous place to eat for a healthy lunch or dinner after hiking at White Rock Lake.

Green Papaya Bistro

Green Papaya Bistro serves light and tasty authentic Vietnamese dishes in a casual environment. The restaurant offers inexpensive meals but with generous portions. Try the Goi Cuon Tom (shrimp spring rolls), green mussels or a green papaya sampler platter for appetizers.

Entrees include Goi Cuon Chay (tofu spring rolls), Bun Thit Nuong (charbroiled pork with noodles), Com Chien Dac Biet (fried rice with shrimp and chicken) or Ga Xao Lan (chicken curry). Dessert is a choice of cheese cake or black forest cake.

Most Vietnamese dishes are prepared without oil, while vegetables are served crisp and only lightly cooked. If you're looking for a healthy alternative to other Dallas restaurants, Green Papaya Bistro is a great choice.
