The Rose and Kettle Restaurant
The Rose and Kettle Restaurant in Cherry Valley is approximately 20 minutes south of Fort Plain. Set in a 200-year-old house, the Rose and Kettle Restaurant is open for dinner from Friday through Sunday. The Rose and Kettle's dinner menu includes entrees such as Hangar Steak Au Poivre, garlic-crusted New Zealand baby rack of lamb and Rosebrook Farm elk eye round roast. The dessert portion of the menu includes mini apple tarts and warm chocolate torte. The Rose and Kettle also has an extensive wine list that includes red and white wines, as well as champagne.

Beardslee Castle, less than 20 minutes from Fort Plain, is a medieval-themed restaurant that is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday during the winter season and Thursday through Sunday during the summer. Menu selections at Beardslee Castle include healthy entrees such as grilled vegetable terrine, as well as hearty meat selections that include pinenut crusted veal medallion and roast stuffed pork tenderloin. There is a children's menu that includes boneless chicken breast and fish fry. Beardslee Castle also has facilities for weddings and live music.

Saltsman's Hotel in Ephratah will satisfy your hunger after a long day of recreational activities. Approximately 10 miles from Fort Plain, Saltsman's Hotel is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, and lunch on Sunday. The Saltsman's Hotel menu features dishes such as Saltsman's famous fried chicken, grilled lamb chops and baked salmon. Each entree comes with an appetizer selection.
