Known as the "Mile-High City" due to its elevation at 5,280 feet above sea level, Denver is located approximately 15 miles east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is one of only two cities in America with eight professional sports teams, and has 300 days of sunshine, a walkable downtown and a thriving art and cultural scene. As the eastern Gateway to the Rocky Mountains, and with the Rockies nearby, the city is a hub for recreational activity and boasts over 200 parks. When traveling to Denver in an RV, you will find several RV campgrounds in the area.

Chief Hosa Campground

Open from May through mid-September, Chief Hosa Campground is just 20 minutes west of Denver off Interstate 70 at 7,700 feet. It has 61 sites, 35 of which are RV sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups. It features restrooms with showers, Wi-Fi Internet, hiking and mountain biking trails, and boasts great views of the Continental Divide. Denver's 2,400-acre Genessee Park is located adjacent to the Campground and boasts historic stone buildings, hiking and biking trails, and an access road to Genesee Mountain Peak, which has areas from which you can view large buffalo and elk herds.

Flying Saucer RV Park

The Flying Saucer RV Park is nestled along the banks of Bear Creek, approximately ten minutes drive from Denver in nearby Englewood. It has 162 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet. Open all year, it is a pet-friendly park that features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities and Wi-Fi Internet. Fishing in Bear Creek, golfing at Englewood Municipal Golf Course and hiking or biking local greenways are popular activities for visitors.

Prospect RV Park

The Prospect RV Park is approximately 20 minutes west of Denver, off Interstate 70 in nearby Wheat Ridge. Open all year, the park offers 47 sites with 30-amp full hookups, 26 of which are large pull-throughs. It features private restrooms and shower facilities, a Laundromat and Internet access. It is located adjacent to the 250-acre Prospect Park, which offers equestrian trails, a playground, lake and baseball diamond, and hiking, jogging and biking trails along Clear Creek.
