Stoney Creek RV Park
The Stoney Creek RV Park is located on a 32-acre farm within the Elizabethton city limits. This park has 13 RV sites with full water, electric and sewage hookups. The roads within the park are paved, and a RV dump station is available to guests. The park is nestled at the base of the Appalachian mountains, and hiking and nature trails can be found throughout the park and in the surrounding area. Doe River Primitive Campground
The Doe River Primitive Campground is located in Roan Mountain approximately 10 miles outside of Elizabethton. This campground allows tents and small self-contained campers, but large RVs are not permitted because they may scare the local wildlife, which includes deer and several species of birds. The campsites are primitive and do not offer water or electric hookups or bathrooms. Campsites are available on Doe River or in more secluded wooded spots on a first-come, first-serve basis. Visitors can enjoy fishing on Doe River or hiking through the surrounding forest.

Misty Waters Bait and Camping
The Misty Waters Bait shop is a small bait shop near the Watauga River and Wilbur Dam. The shop sells snacks and sandwiches as well as fishing supplies and bait. The campground features eight RV sites with water and electrical hookups and a dump station. Primitive tent sites are also available at the campground.

Cherokee Trails Campground and Stables
Cherokee Trails Campground in Bluff City is a 13-minute drive from Elizabethton. The campground is located within the Cherokee National Forest at the base of Holston Mountain. Tents and RVs are welcome at the campground, and full hookups including water, electric and sewage are provided. Amenities of the campground include bathrooms and showers, a sheltered picnic area and a dump station. Three cabins are available for rent and can accommodate up to seven people. Guests can rent pontoon boats or canoes to enjoy on the nearby South Holston Lake and South Holston River. The surrounding area has many trails suitable for hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding that lead to scenic swimming areas such as Blue Hole or fishing spots such as the nearby Laurel Falls.
