Located in the Plumas National Forest of northern California, Lake Almanor has ample camping opportunities. The area provides visitors with opportunities for boating, fishing, hiking, biking and hunting, and the Lake has scenic mountain views. The Lassen Volcanic National Park, Plumas National Forest, Lassen National Forest and Caribou Wilderness combine for more than 1 million acres of recreational land.

Big Springs Resort

This is a private resort on the shores of Lake Almanor. The resort has cabin rentals and RV sites with lake views and access to wireless Internet, picnic tables, restrooms, showers, barbecues and horseshoes. North Shore Campground

Located 2 miles east of Chester, this campground is on more than 1 mile of Lake Almanor shoreline. The campground has RV sites, tent sites and guest houses available for visitors. The campground also has showers, laundry facilities, a general store, playground, wireless Internet, dump station, picnic tables, fire rings, a boat ramp, boat slips, boat rentals and more. The location is ideal for recreation on the lake and shopping and dining in the town of Chester.
