RV Parks in Wichita, Kansas

RV Parks in Wichita, Kansas
Originally serving as a meeting place for nomads and a settlement of Wichita Indians, the town's first white settler opened a trading post and established the area as a base for the Chisholm Trail. Wichita became a destination for cattle drives from Texas, and grew into a trade and milling center. In the early 1900's, oil was discovered nearby and the airplane industry began to grow. During World War II it was the major manufacturing center for airplanes needed in the war effort and has been nicknamed the "Air Capital of the World." Today, it is best known for its western heritage and visitors can experience the Music Theatre of Wichita, Wichita Grand Opera, Wichita Symphony Society, and an internationally-renowned collection of American art at the Wichita Art Museum, and explore America's most authentic "Old West" town at Old Cowtown Museum, an outdoor, living history museum. When traveling by RV to Wichita, you will find several RV parks to choose from for your visit.
