Campgrounds in the Mohawk, Tennessee Area
Mohawk is a small town located in Northeastern Tennessee. The city is approximately 20 miles away from the Smoky Mountains with the entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park 40 miles away. The area surrounding Mohawk is mostly wooded and mountainous and visitors will find a variety of trails suitable for hiking and mountain biking.

Banks Farms Campground

Banks Farms Campground is located approximately five miles away from Mohawk on the Nolichuckey river. The campground has more than 100 sites with water, electric and sewer RV hookups. Primitive tent sites are also available as well as cabins with a wood stove, queen-size bed and a twin-size bed. Other amenities include restrooms and showers, laundry facilities and an outdoor pool. Fishing and tubing is permitted on the Nolichuckey River. This campground is home to the Nolichuckey Showgrounds and Arena which hosts rodeos, mounted shooting competitions and other equine events.

Heron Point Marina and Campground

The Heron Point Marina is roughly 10 miles away from the city of Mohawk. The campground at the Marina features 14 RV sites with full hookups including water, electric and sewage. Seven sites are available with only water and electric hookups and primitive tent sites can also be found throughout the park. Amenities at this campground include restrooms and showers, protected swimming area with a water trampoline, picnic area, children's playground, fishing dock, large fenced dog park and a convenience store selling basic toiletries and camping supplies. Canoes, kayaks and other water toys can be rented by the hour for use on Heron Point.

Cherokee Lake Campgrounds

Cherokee Lake can be found 13 miles outside of Mohawk. This 54 mile long lake contains popular game fish such as White Bass, Large-mouth Bass, Bluegill, Walleye, Striped Bass and Crappie. The Cherokee Lake campgrounds are located in a secluded area of the lake with a sandy beach area and plenty of shade trees. Campsites vary from primitive tent sites to RV sites with full hookups and even two or three bedroom cabins. Propane, snacks and basic toiletries can be purchased from the on-site convenience store. Other amenities include restrooms and showers, an outdoor pool, tanning bed and a game room featuring arcade games, a billiards table and an air hockey table.
