Campgrounds in Pentwater, Michigan
Pentwater, Michigan, is a small waterfront town on Lake Michigan that offers visitors shopping, charter fishing and white-sand beaches. There are several campgrounds in Pentwater that are conveniently close to downtown and provide amenities such as on-site hiking trails and fishing opportunities. Pentwater is also home to a historic downtown that dates to 1853 and has many Victorian architecture buildings.

Charles Mears State Park

Charles Mears State Park is a 50-acre park on the north side of the Lake Michigan channel in Pentwater, Michigan. It features a 175-site campground, swimming beach and wooded exploration area. Camp sites include an electric hook-up, picnic table and fire ring, with shaded and sunny sites available. Facility amenities include modern restrooms, water-filling station and dump station for RVs. The campground is less than a five-minute walk to the large beach area, where guests can swim and sunbath. There is also a one-mile hiking trail that runs through the forest that surrounds the campground.

Hill and Hollow Campground

Hill and Hollow Campground is two miles north of downtown Pentwater and less than a half-mile from Lake Michigan. It offers over 200 campsites with varying sizes, all including electric, a picnic table and fire pit. Facility amenities include two shower and restroom buildings, two heated swimming pools and a camp store. Recreational amenities include a playground, softball field and horseshoe pits along with basketball and volleyball courts. AJ's family fun center is adjacent to the property and has mini-golf, go-karts and an arcade. Hill and Hollow has its own cafe that serves breakfast and lunch daily. There is a fish-cleaning station on-site and room to store your boat. The office has fishing charter information with local guides.

River Farm Campground

River Farm Campground is two miles southeast of Pentwater on 30 wooded acres. It is on the Pentwater River, which gives guests access to fishing and canoeing directly from the camp. There is also a hiking trail that runs throughout the property and has a river wetland observation area where guests can view wildlife. River Farm offers large wooded sites that include a picnic table and fire ring along with electric at select sites. Facility amenities include modern restrooms that include a shower, a playground and basketball hoop as well as a volleyball and shuffleboard court.
