Campgrounds in Hot Springs, AR

Campgrounds in Hot Springs, AR
Hot Springs, Arkansas, was the first federally protected area in the history of the United States and it has pleased visitors as a resort for almost 100 years, since coming to popularity in the early 1920s. The town takes its name from the year-round hot springs that are the focal point of many local resorts. Hiking trails on Ouachita Mountain and in the area are widely available, and the area's popularity with tourists ensures that there is plenty of local camping.

Gulpha Gorge Campground

This campground is located in Hot Springs National Park. The campground and the park are open year-round. The on-site visitor's center is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Primitive camping and camping sites with hookups are both available, but the camping sites are not pull-through. Restroom facilities are on-site, but there are no showers. This is, however, reflected in the low cost of staying at this campground. Picnic tables and grills are located at each camping site. Reservations are not taken; all facilities are first-come, first-served, and camping is limited to 14 days a year.
