Lighthouse Point is a town in south Florida close to Fort Lauderdale. With several beaches, Lighthouse Point is popular with water sports enthusiasts, walkers, hikers and cyclists. Visitors may sail or swim at Deerfield Beach. Other active pursuits include riding mountain bike trails at Quiet Waters Park. Visitors can also walk the nature trails at Lighthouse Point Park and see possums, raccoons, and birds of prey, or they can take a yacht out into the Intracoastal Waterway. The Lighthouse Point area has many excellent restaurants, including authentic Thai eateries.

Siam Authentic Cuisine offers inexpensive Thai food in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Family owned by a Thai couple, the restaurant serves authentic Thai food, with many dishes offering the same spicy flavors you find in Thailand. Siam Authentic Cuisine also has less spicy dishes if guests' taste buds are not quite up to it. It is recommended to try the pork larb, fried catfish, tom yam geung (spicy shrimp soup) or beef masaman curry. The restaurant offers takeout service, if patrons would rather eat in their hotel room or out for a picnic.

Located in Oakland Park, Siam Kitchen Sushi-Thai has an extensive menu offering Thai curries, Thai fried fish, lobster, mussels, duck, several varieties of fried rice, noodles, sushi, tempura, sashimi, sushi combination platters and much more. With more than 200 items on the menu, it could be difficult to choose. Siam Kitchen Sushi-Thai restaurant serves several Asian beers including Singha and Sapporo. It also has a wine and sake menu with many choices. Siam Kitchen Sushi-Thai is a popular restaurant for lunch or dinner, particularly after a few hours hiking one of Lighthouse Point's trails.

Thai Spice was named one of the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale by the Zagat guide. Serving authentic Thai cuisine, along with fresh seafood and prime steaks, Thai Spice has food for every taste. Menu items include the Thai Spice salad, pad thai, chicken fried rice, vegetable curry, grilled shrimp, siam duck or Bangkok chicken. The menu is enormous and, with the restaurant's extensive wine menu too, its a great place to eat your favorite Thai dishes. Thai Spice also has a take out and delivery menu, which is ideal if diners simply want to relax in their hotel room after a day out on the ocean.
