A Whale's Tale Seafood and Oyster Bar
A Whale's Tale is a small restaurant with a large menu, featuring everything from raw oysters as an appetizer to "crab cake Benedict" at brunch. Depending on your taste, you can dine on fresh or fried fish and hard-shell crabs, while those in your party who aren't in the mood for seafood can choose from entrees like duck or steak. The underwater décor, complete with models of sharks and shipwrecks, makes for a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for a casual experience, with different specials almost every day and live music two nights a week.

Paddy McGee's Fish House and Bar Restaurant
Located just five minutes from Long Beach by car, Paddy McGee's Fish House is available as a slightly more upscale dining choice. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner from March through November, Paddy McGee's offers a selection of regional fish, crab and shellfish. Crabs are cooked to order and are often featured in a signature dish. Lobster is available either by itself or stuffed with crab meat. The atmosphere is far from black tie, but it's recommended to come in more than jeans and a T-shirt. Prices match the slightly upscale feeling, so come prepared with a credit card or a decent amount of cash on hand. The adjacent tropical-themed bar, Paddy's Parrot Bar, is more casual than the Fish House and offers a free buffet in the evening.

Jordan Lobster Farm
Down the road from Paddy McGee's, Jordan Lobster Farm is a very casual, family-friendly seafood market that doubles as a cafe where you can dine on their substantial take-out menu of fresh crab, lobster and fish. They can cook it to suit your preferences, but given the nature of the restaurant, don't expect a fancy meal. If you feel like doing a little shopping after you eat, the large market offers several variations of hard- and soft-shell crabs and frozen fish from the area. They also have a number of homemade dishes for sale if you want to take home a full meal. If you want the atmosphere of a real restaurant, this isn't for you, but if you want a casual cafe for a good selection of local crab or fish, this may be a place you want to try.
