McPherson, Kansas, RV Parks
Set in the central part of Kansas, McPherson offers a variety of sights and activities to visitors. The city is named after General James Birdseye McPherson, a civil war officer. Some of the area's more popular attractions are McPherson Valley Wetlands, McPherson Opera House, Statue of General McPherson and the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge. When driving through by RV, you'll find a few RV parks in the area.

McPherson RV Ranch and Horse Motel

This ranch accommodates RVs and tent campers. Pull-through and big rig RV sites have full hookups and 30- or 50-amp electrical. The campground also provides a fitness center, recreation room, showers and bathrooms, Wi-Fi, horse motel, and picnic tables. Maxwell Wildlife Refuge nearby is a naturally preserved prairie where visitors can view free-roaming buffalo and elk.

Lakeside Recreational Park

Lakeside Recreational Park is set on a 63-acre wooded area with a 12-acre fishing lake. The park is approximately 28 miles from McPherson and has 25 RV sites with full hookups and 30- or 50-amp service. There are also 20 tent sites. Other amenities include bathhouse, clubhouse, swimming pool, grills and sandy beach. Fishing expedition services are available for a fee without fishing license requirements.

Mustang Park

Mustang Park offers sites with full hookups and 30- or 50-amp service. Other amenities include wireless Internet, picnic tables and a fishing pond. Aside from fishing and hiking around Mustang Lake, campers can also visit the nearby McPherson Valley Wetlands where a wide range of migratory birds reside. The 4,000-acre wetlands are also managed for waterfowl and hunting.
