Campgrounds in Greene County, Georgia
With part of the Oconee National Forest within the boundaries of Greene County, Georgia, there are many outdoor activities to be found in the county. The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest offers hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing, rock-climbing, bouldering and backpacking. Rivers and lakes offer anglers many options for fishing, and for kayakers to indulge in their pastime. Greene County has several campground options.

Lake Shore Resort

Guests staying at the Lake Shore Resort have options for RV sites and tents. RV sites have 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer connections. Tent sites are within the RV area and are primitive sites with access to water spigots for drinking and cooking. Pets are allowed if leashed. All guests may use the bathrooms and showers, laundry room, club house and boat launches. The North Shore is within a 30-minute drive to the Oconee National Forest where you'll find hiking and biking.

Chatahoochee-Oconee National Forest

The Chatahoochee-Oconee National Forest offers RV and tent campers many options within the forest system campgrounds such as tent camper sites within a few minutes of biking and hiking trails. Sites have fire-rings, picnic tables, lantern posts, water for cooking and drinking and a toilet. RV campers have several options within the forests as well, including the Lake Sinclair Campground. There are water and sewer hookups along with 50-amp electric. Toilets are on the campgrounds for guest use. Pets are allowed in the national forests but must remain leashed. Guests staying in the national forests of the region can find bird and wildlife viewing, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, hiking and rock-climbing.

Parks Ferry Recreation Area at Lake Oconee

Parks Ferry Recreation Area offers RV and tent campsites along Lake Oconee. RV sites have 30- or 50-amp electric and water hookups. There is a dump station for RV use as there are no sewer hookups. Tent sites are level, have fire-rings and picnic tables and have access to fresh drinking water. Pets are allowed if leashed. There is a bathhouse with showers, toilets and laundry facilities available for guest use. Kayaking, canoeing and fishing can be found right from the campground.
