St. Cloud, Minnesota, located in the mid-central portion of the state, offers visitors many options for outdoor recreation and urban adventures. Quarry Park has trails for mountain biking, hiking and trail-running. Watersports enthusiasts will find kayaking, canoeing, fishing and swimming in the Mississippi River, which flows through the area, as well as in the many lakes near St. Cloud. In winter, cross-country skiing reigns supreme with miles of groomed trails in the city. The Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center was refurbished and offers visitors shows and events.

St. Cloud/Clearwater RV Park

Only one mile from the Mississippi River and Warner Lake County Park, the St. Cloud/Clearwater RV Park offers guests many opportunities for hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking and fishing within minutes. RVs of most sizes can be handled at the park, and full hookups offered include 30- or 50-amp electric, sewer and water. Tent sites for primitive camping are available as well, and guests at tent sites have access to the park's range of amenities for no extra fee. There are showers and bathrooms for guest use. Pets are allowed if leashed. The Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, within an hour's drive, affords visitors activities like bird-watching and hiking.

A-J Acres

A-J Acres is on 150 acres of forests and lakes and has hiking trails on the grounds. There are wilderness tent sites for primitive camping and sites for RVs. All campers have use of the guest bathrooms, showers, laundry room, game rooms, fire rings and barbecue/picnic areas. Anglers can use the fish-cleaning station. Pets are allowed if leashed. Canoeing and kayak-touring can be initiated right from the campground as there is a boat launch and A-J offers boat rentals. RV hookups come with 30- or 50-amp electric, sewer and water. Within a 15-minute drive, the Mississippi River provides further options for boating and fishing.

Sibley State Park

Visitors to the St. Cloud region can opt to head over to Sibley State Park where there are sites for RVs and for tents. There are hiking and biking trails, fishing, boating and bouldering opportunities in the park, making it a convenient base camp for outdoor enthusiasts. Pets are allowed but must be leashed in the park. All guests have access to the showers and bathrooms. There is fresh drinking water available. RV length limit is 70 feet and reservations for RV sites can be made online at stayatmnparks.com. The Glacial Lakes State Trail is within five miles of Sibley State Park and offers further opportunities for mountain biking.
