Shady Lane is more than just the name of the park, it describes the setting of the park. Sites are situated beneath mature oaks in the rolling hills of Missouri. The park has 17 spaces with full hookups and pull throughs available. The management offers daily, weekly and monthly rates and provides basic conveniences, including a restroom and shower facility and laundry area. The park is convenient to I-44 access and only 16 miles northeast of Carthage. Kellogg Lake, east of Carthage, has hiking trails and access to the Spring River. Nature enthusiasts can visit the Kellogg Lake Nature Center and Preserve and investigate local plant and wildlife.

The Joplin KOA has pull through sites and full hookups. Guests can expect 90 by 50 foot sites, 50 amp electric service and high-speed wireless Internet. Cable television is available in a limited number of sites, those which also feature mature oak trees. Travelers who need an unobstructed view of the sky for satellite service will find spots as well. The park provides a convenience store, propane station and swimming pool. Guests can rent a bicycle or pedal go-cart, feed the fish, ducks and turtles and hike around the park pond. For an afternoon in the fresh air, the city of Carthage has an 18-hole golf course with a practice facility and PGA professional instruction, in case you want tips to improve your game.

Big Red Barn RV Park

Big Red Barn RV Park offers long, wide sites and paved streets. Most sites have full hookups and each comes with 30 or 50 amp service and a concrete patio. Wi-Fi is free and cable television is available. The park is open all year. LP gas and ice are sold on-site or guests can use the free firewood provided at the barbecue. The park keeps a courtesy phone for visitor use, an adult game room, two television areas and a library. Relax and enjoy the song of local birds or head into town for something to do. The city of Carthage has a municipal park with a skating rink and swimming pool, while Fair Acres Sports Complex contains soccer and ball fields.
