William Begley Memorial RV Park
The Willie Begley Memorial RV Park is 20 miles southwest of Hazard. There are pull-through sites available, and all sites include electrical and water hook-up. A dump station is also available. The campground is basic but does provide restrooms and showers and welcomes pets. This park is on Buckhorn Lake, a half mile from Breckinridge Memorial Park and six miles from Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park. Note that this is a seasonal campground, open generally from April through October, depending on the weather. Reservations are recommended.

Trace Branch Recreation Area
The Trace Branch Recreation Area is 15 miles west of Hazard. Sites include space for all recreation vehicles, including big rigs which require pull-through spaces. Some sites have 50-amp electric and water hook-up, but most are primitive. Amenities include a lakeside location which provides opportunities for swimming, jet-skiing and boating; a recreation area with horseshoe pits and basketball courts; a picnic area with tables and grills; fire rings and firewood; and bathrooms with flush toilets and showers. There are hiking trails in the nearby Red River Gorge Geological Area and the Lilley Cornett Woods. Note that reservations are not optional and must be made four days in advance.

Harlan County Campground and RV Park
The Harlan County Campground and RV Park is thirty miles south of Hazard, and has pull-through sites for large RVs. Some sites have 30- and 50-amp electrical connections and all have water hook-ups. Other camping services include bathrooms and showers, a dump station, Wi-Fi and satellite television, and a small store. This is a pet-friendly park that is close to the Black Mountain Recreational Park and Kentenia State Forest.
