Basalt lies in the southwestern part of the state, about 100 miles south of Carson City, Nevada. Outdoor enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of a rich outdoor experience with national and public parks within a 20-mile radius. Adjacent to Basalt is Yosemite National Park, Inyo National Forest, Sierra National Forest and Toiyabe National Forest. Opportunities for camping, hunting, skiing, hiking and backpacking are plentiful in this region. Other attractions within 10 miles of the Basalt city center include the Sands Regency Casino, Mono Lake and Walker Lake. Interstate 6 runs through the town of Basalt and the California border is within 10 miles of the town center. Unfortunately, there are no hotels or motels in Basalt, but there are motels and hotels available in nearby towns.

Benton Hot Springs

Benton Hot Springs is located across the California border in Benton, California via Interstate 6, approximately 30 minutes by car away from the town of Basalt. Benton offers two styles of guest rooms, 1960s Bungalow and 1880s Old House, each decorated in specific themes with antique furnishings. Benton Springs prides itself on offering guests a relaxing stay, and allows each guest access to nine hot tubs. Each tub is located in a different spot on the property, and are made from redwood, tile, concrete and fiberglass. Some suites allow pets, and others do not. Make sure to confirm your accommodation if traveling with a pet.

Jim Butler Inn & Suites

The Jim Butler Inn & Suites is located east of Basalt in Tonopah, Nevada, approximately 30 miles from the Basalt city center, via Interstate 6. The Jim Butler Inn houses two floors of 24 guest rooms, across the street from the Tonopah Convention Center. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of being located within two miles from Barsanti Park, Henderson Park and Butler Park. Complimentary amenities include continental breakfasts, parking and high-speed Internet access. America's Best Inn

America's Best Inn is located in Hawthorne, Nevada, approximately 40 miles north of Basalt, via Interstate 95. Hawthorne neighbors Walker Lake and Hawthorne Industrial Airport. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of fishing, swimming and boating at the Walker Lake State Recreation Area, which borders Walker Lake. Inn amenities are limited, but do include complimentary breakfasts and access to Eco-rooms. Eco-rooms are guest rooms that only include energy and water efficient bath fixtures and biodegradable products.
