Auburn offers few options for RV camping, but the surrounding towns have several choices, each placing you close to outdoor recreation. The RV park accommodations vary from basic services to those packed with on-site activities. Visitors to any of these parks are a short drive from Indian Cave State Park--20 miles southeast of Auburn--where rugged hiking and backpacking are permitted.

Victorian Acres RV Park

Victorian Acres RV Park sits on 26 acres, providing 94 grassy sites and tree-lined spaces with 30- and 50-amp full hookups. The clubhouse has Wi-Fi and a full kitchen for guest use. The park is open all year and offers the basic facilities you may want in the middle of a long road trip--from showers to a laundry area. Nebraska City is 20 miles north of Auburn and home to several golf courses--The Golf Club at Table Creek or Wildwood Golf Course (nine holes).

Mulberry Creek Resort

Mulberry Creek Resort offers pull-through and back-in sites in a camp on the quiet plains. Full hookups with 30- and 50-amp electric service are standard. The resort hosts themed events and has several on-site activities to keep campers busy. Horse lovers will appreciate the equestrian arena. Shake off the heat in one of the two swimming pools, try a game of mini golf or sit and reflect by the spring-fed pond. Guests can also hike the wooded trails on the grounds. The resort is 40 miles south of Auburn, in Morrill, Kansas. In Auburn, travelers can find soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, lighted tennis courts, basketball courts and a public pool with a water slide. Rotary Island Lake--also in Auburn--has a pond with ducks and a jogging trail.

Sycamore Springs Resort

Sycamore Springs Resort, 36 miles south of Auburn, offers 120 RV sites with full hookups and 30- and 50-amp electric. The resort has a dump station and sites can be arranged for a daily or weekly rate. This shady location is known for its mineral waters, used since the time when American Indian tribes populated the area. Guests can visit the old-fashioned church and see the pipe organ, hike the nature trails or splash in Pony Creek. Rental equipment is available if you would like a game of tennis. The park provides volleyball and basketball courts and a baseball field. Use of the mini golf course and a roller skating rink involve a small additional fee.
