Campgrounds Near Concan, Texas
Situated in Texas' Frio River/Canyon, Concan presents many opportunities to outdoor enthusiasts. Nearby Garner State Park has hiking, boating, biking and fishing, and other parks and recreation areas near Concan include Kickapoo Cavern State Park and the Hill Country, Lost Maples and Devil's Sinkhole state natural areas. Bird-watchers and wildlife followers will find the region fertile ground for several species, including Golden-cheeked Warblers, Fox Squirrels and the Rio Grande Turkey. There are several campgrounds in the Concan area.

Neal's Lodges

Neal's offers sites for RVs along the Frio River, with accommodations for vehicles up to 50 feet in length. Sites come with either 35- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, and cable TV. Pets are allowed if leashed when walking and crated at the sites. There is Wi-Fi at the campground for guest use, along with bathrooms, showers and laundry room. Shuttles can be arranged for pickups and drop-offs at sites excellent for swimming and inner tubing, and the guided tours of the sunset bat flights the region is known for during the season (March through September) are a draw. Neal's Lodge maintains feeders for bird species, increasing opportunities for bird-watchers.

Garner State Park

Garner State Park has sites for RV and for tent campers. Although the tent sites are primitive, they do afford access to drinking water spigots, and campers can use the showers and bathrooms. RVs can opt for full hookup (30- or 50-amp electric, and water) sites, but there are partial hookup and primitive facilities for RVs as well. All guests may use the bathrooms, dish-washing areas, showers and picnic tables. Pets are allowed if leashed. Within the park there are hiking trails, and opportunities for canoeing, kayak-touring, fishing and swimming.

BECS Store and RV Park

Guests staying at BECS will have access to the Frio River and the canoeing and kayaking opportunities along this waterway. The nearby rock-climbing, hiking, mountain biking and rafting opportunities make BECS a convenient location for outdoor enthusiasts. RVs of most sizes can be accommodated. Hookups include water, sewer, cable TV and either 30- or 50-amp electric. Guests have access to Wi-Fi is on the grounds, along with showers, private toilets, picnic areas, a laundry room and barbecue stations. Pets are allowed if leashed. The general store carries sundries and supplies for campers.
