Northgate RV Travel Park

Ten miles north of Decatur and directly off I-65 is the Northgate RV Travel Park. The park offers guests a farm setting, with a variety of animals such as geese, goats, horses, sheep and cattle living there. 20 full hook-up sites include water, 30/50 amp service and sewer, with four-inch self-closing sewer connections. All sites are pull-through. Wi-Fi and modem hookups are available. Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge located approximately 12 miles south. The area offers a one-mile hiking trail and boardwalk and the chance to view one of the area's 127 species of reptiles, mammals and amphibians, or the 285 species of songbirds living in the refuge.

Swan Creek

Swan Creek is located approximately seven miles north of Decatur. The park situated in a country setting has an abundance of shade trees and paved streets. The campsites are large enough to accommodate large rigs and pull-throughs and include water, 30/50-amp service and patio. Rates are daily, weekly or monthly, with pets accepted. The park has a clubhouse, laundry facility, wireless Internet room, pool table, playground and basketball courts. The park is approximately seven miles from the Tennessee River and Wheeler Lake where anglers and boaters can launch their boats and fish. The Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, located along the Tennessee River, is approximately nine miles away, where boaters and anglers can use the boat ramp and fish. Hikers can utilize the two-mile trail or sit back and watch nature.

Point Mallard Park

Approximately six miles out of the city of Decatur is city operated Point Mallard. This park is perfect for families traveling in RVs and has an abundance of recreational activities. This 500-acre park offers a heavily wooded 25-acre campground, with 257 sites that offer water, sewer, electric, picnic tables and grills. 25 sites are 30 feet by 60 feet to accommodate pull-throughs. The campground has restrooms, showers, pavilions, picnic area, laundry facility and a grocery store. Guests are within walking distance to the park's water park, golf course, tennis courts and skating rink. There are three miles of trails along the Tennessee River located within the park. It's approximately one mile from Wheeler Lake, where anglers and boaters can launch and fish the surrounding waters. Carrier Matthews Park, located within the city, offers two miles of hiking trails.
