Sandwiched between the city of Ocala and the wilderness of the Ocala National Forest, the city of Silver Springs has been a popular destination for decades. RV campgrounds can be found along each stage of the 5-mile long Silver River providing a unique experience for campers. From its headwaters in Silver Springs Nature Park, the Silver River flows into the conservation area of Silver River State Park, snakes into Ocala National Forest where it joins the Ocklawaha River.

Silver River State Park

Silver River State Park protects the clear waters of the Silver River and offers campsites with water and electric hookup in addition to rental cabins. Due to preservation efforts, fishing and swimming in the river within the park is not permitted, however, guests may take to the river aboard canoes and kayaks as well as hiking and biking the trails that traverse the river's banks. The park also offers a playground, picnic areas, restrooms, showers, firewood and a canoe/kayak launch. Campers may bring their leashed pets.

Located at the western edge of the Ocala National Forest,, Wilderness RV Park Estates allows campers to explore the trails, rivers and springs within the 383,000 acres of this wilderness. Full-hookup RV sites close to the confluence of the Silver and Ocklawaha Rivers allow for miles of boating and fishing along these waterways. Other park amenities include a heated pool, bath houses, outdoor recreation areas (including bocce ball, shuffleboard, and horseshoes), wireless internet, recreation center, propane and laundry facilities.
