The Blue Ridge Parkway is a short drive away, and provides opportunities for hiking, camping and mountain climbing. Other interests in the area include museums, malls, the Pisgah National Forest, and historic sites such as the Grove Park Inn. There are a number of RV parks in Asheville.

Wilson's RV Park offers RV and tent sites with picnic tables, concrete slabs, and water and sewer hook ups, as well as 30- or 50-amp electrical connections. Cable service is available at select sites. On-site amenities include a small camp store, bath houses, restrooms, propane service and river access. A laundry and dog park are nearby. Carrier Park is also nearby, offering outdoor recreation such as hiking and biking, and sports activities such as volleyball and baseball.

Bear Creek RV Park

The Bear Creek RV Park is close to many area attractions like the Biltmore House. On-site amenities include bathhouses, restrooms, laundry facilities, propane service, a kitchen and a clubhouse that can be used for events. A game room and heated pool provide guests with recreational opportunities. Sites come equipped with full hook ups, free Wi-Fi and either 30- or 50-amp electrical connections. Pull-throughs sites are available, and tent sites and rentals are also offered.

Campfire Lodgings

Campfire Lodgings is just north of Asheville in a wooded area. Outdoor recreation on the property includes trails and a fishing pond. The park offers several amenities like bathhouses, laundry facilities and an events area. There are several accommodation options such as cabins, tent sites, yurts and RV sites. Sites feature a fire pit, picnic table, full hook ups, cable, Wi-Fi and electrical with 20- 30- or 50-amps. Tent sites are also available.
