The Ferry House
The Ferry House's profile of its chef Bobby Trigg notes that his cooking was described as "excellent" by the New York Times and received a high score in the Zagat guide. The Ferry House specializes in French-American cuisine, prepared using locally-sourced produce. Entrées include grilled lamb chops with goat cheese mashed potatoes, and Cajun striped bass served with Spanish rice.
Open for dinner every evening and lunch on weekdays, the Ferry House describes itself as casually elegant; while the restaurant is upscale, the dress code is casual and guests may bring their own bottle of wine.

Lahiere's
Just a short walk from the Ferry House is Lahiere's, a restaurant started in 1919 by a husband and wife from Switzerland and France respectively. Unlike the restaurant in its early years, which served French cuisine, the modern-day Lahiere's specializes in contemporary American food.
Dinner entrées at Lahiere's include dishes such a grilled filet; seared yellowfin tuna with grilled shiitakes and honey-roasted duck with cranberry-vegetable spring roll. Lahiere's also has an extensive wine list, which includes champagne by the bottle and by the glass. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day except Sunday.
