You can find hundreds of underwater cameras on the market these days designed for a wide range of water sports. Some are geared towards serious deep-sea divers, while others are intended for people who just want to take photos of their family and friends in the swimming pool. Most underwater cameras keep out not only water, but also dirt and debris. Many of the cameras listed are also quite durable and shock-resistant.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1

Available in silver, green, and orange, this sleek, sturdy digital camera is waterproof, shockproof and dust-proof. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 also features AVCHD Lite High-Definition (HD) video recording, 12.1 megapixels, 4.6x optical zoom, 2.7-inch LCD, and 28mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens. Canon PowerShot D10

This highly durable digital camera from one of the industry's best is waterproof to 33 feet and withstands temperatures as cold as 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Other features include Advanced Face Recognition, 3x optically stabilized 38-114mm equivalent zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD, and Smart Auto Exposure. This underwater camera goes for around $300.

VuPoint DC-WPC-ST531T

This budget camera captures underwater images at depths of up to 50 feet. Picture quality isn't outstanding, with only 5 megapixels, maximum ISO200, and no optical zoom. However, for under $100, it's solid option.

Olympus FE-360/ Olympus PT-044 Underwater Housing
