Ringoes is a small area of central New Jersey, close to the city of Lambertville. Hike one of Voorhees State Park's seven trails or enjoy a picnic in the picnicking area. Walk the Capoolong Trail and enjoy the many species of birds and wildlife. Go boating, kayaking or swimming at the Round Valley Reservoir, then relax over a lovely dinner at one of the Ringoes' area restaurants.

Harvest Moon Inn

Harvest Moon Inn in Ringoes is located in a 19th-century school building and is family owned and operated. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner in an elegant yet relaxing environment. Their extensive menu includes such delights as squid with bacon risotto, whole wheat fettuccini with sausage and spinach, sausage and black olive pizza, beef tenderloin sandwich and pan seared tuna with squash and truffle ravioli. For dessert the warm chocolate bread pudding with chocolate ice cream in a chocolate liquor sauce is a specialty, as is warm peanut butter brownie and ice cream. The restaurant also has a fixed price menu and a more relaxed tavern menu. Harvest Moon Inn is a wonderful place to eat after hiking one of the area's many trails.

Metro Cafe Diner is a traditional American diner that, with its stylish decor, looks slightly more upscale than you'd expect. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with an enormous menu serving every standard diner dish. Pancakes, waffles, traditional cooked American breakfasts, chili, omelets, burgers, sandwiches, eggs Benedict and meat loaf are available. Like most diners, it also serves breakfast all day long. Metro Cafe Diner is a great place for a hearty meal either before or after cycling around Ringoes pretty countryside.

Matt's Red Rooster Grill

Matt's Red Rooster Grill in Flemington, New Jersey, is an American bistro voted one of the "Best Overall" restaurants in the United States by Open Table. Located in a restored Victorian house, Matt's Red Rooster Grill has an extensive menu showcasing such dishes as pumpkin ravioli, rustic wild mushroom soup, filet mignon, short ribs and crab cakes. The restaurant also features different weekly specials every week. Matt's does not have a liquor license but you can order wine from the Little Brothers Beverage Outlet who will deliver it to the restaurant for you. Plus, there's no corkage fee. For something a little more upscale, Matt's Red Rooster Grill is a lovely choice and only a five-minute drive from Ringoes.
