Gulf Shores, Alabama is a popular vacation town on the Gulf of Mexico and possesses multiple RV parks. However, the heart of town is located on a barrier island; the RV parks are located on the mainland, either across a lagoon or farther inland. The area is home to the Pine Beach Trail, a four-mile hiking trail through the forested Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge that leads to the Gulf of Mexico.

Island Retreat RV Park is located across the street from Little Lagoon; downtown Gulf Shores is directly across the lagoon. The park offers over 170 concrete pad sites that have full hook-ups and free wireless Internet and cable TV. Some lots are pull-through. Facility amenities include paved roads, outdoor swimming pool and playground as well as a bath house, two laundry facilities and clubhouse with kitchen. Doc's RV Park

Doc's RV Park is located across Little Lagoon from downtown Gulf Shores and offers 75 full hook-up sites. All sites include cable TV, wireless Internet and a picnic table. Facility amenities include an outdoor pool area, playground and clubhouse along with a laundry area and bathhouse. The lots are capable of fitting even the biggest motor home or trailer. Doc's RV Park is less than four miles from the Pine Beach Trail and within a two-mile drive from multiple fishing charters.

Gulf Coast RV Park

Gulf Coast RV Park is in an inland rural setting five miles north of downtown Gulf Shores and adjacent to the Bon Secour River. The over-size sites have shade trees, and the park is surrounded by forest for extra privacy. All sites have a paved pad, full hookups and a picnic table as well as cable TV. Facility amenities include a laundry room, bathhouse and large clubhouse with kitchen. Gulf Shores RV Park has regular pot luck banquets and weekend breakfasts for its guests and long-term residents. Guests will find several local fishing locations and boat launches on the Bon Secour River. The park also has a boat storage area.
