Located approximately 15 minutes southwest of Portland, Tigard is one of the city's larger suburbs. It features all the amenities of a modern city but strives to keep its friendliness and small-town feeling. Tigard offers many opportunities for recreational activities, including several public and private golf courses, city parks, outdoor tennis courts, and pedestrian and bike trails. Cook Park is situated along the banks of the Tualatin River, and is the largest of seven community parks. Summerlake Park and Fanno Creek Park routinely attract waterfowl and wildlife that yield great opportunities for bird-watching and wildlife viewing. Located approximately five minutes from Tigard in nearby Tualatin, Roamers Rest RV Park is situated along the banks of the Tualatin River. Nestled in a wooded area along the Tualatin River, the RV Park of Portland is located just nine minutes from Tigard, in Tualatin. Open all year, it has 112 sites with 20-, 30- or 50-amp full hookups. Park amenities include restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, cable TV and Internet access. The park allows pets and welcomes anglers of all levels. The nearby Nyberg Creek Greenway offers trails for jogging, hiking and biking. Atfalati City Park is a 13-acre park with two playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, and sports fields, and the 8.5-acre wetland Saum Creek Greenway for great for walking, jogging, or biking.

Jantzen Beach RV Park

The Jantzen Beach RV Park is on the Columbia River, just north of Portland and just 20 minutes from Tigard. It has over 160 sites with 20-, 30- or 50-amp full hookups, and can accommodate RV ups to 60 feet. Open all year, it features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi Internet, cable TV, a heated swimming pool, fitness center, game room, playground, and basketball court. Pets are welcome. Situated on Hayden Island, the park is close to downtown Portland or an easy road trip up the Columbia River Gorge to Rooster Rock State Park, Multnomah Falls, Ainsworth State Park or Benson State Recreation Area.
