RV Campgrounds in Alexandria, LA
Alexandria, Louisiana, enjoys a central location for RVers in search of outdoor adventure. The town sits amid many of the scattered districts of Kisatchie National Forest, as well as numerous lakes, rivers, creeks and reservoirs. There is plenty of hiking, biking, nature watching, canoeing and boating in the area. There are a variety of public and private campgrounds, although some of them have no RV hook-ups.

Kincaid Lake Campgrounds

Located 17 miles southwest of Alexandria, Kincaid Lake and its pair of campgrounds are part of Kisatchie National Forest's Calcasieu District. The campground has a mix of RV and tent sites. All RV sites have water and electrical hookups. The features and facilities of Kincaid Lake's include a dumping station, barbecue grills and fire pits, shower houses, fishing pier and hiking trail. However, there is no boat ramp at either of the campgrounds. That is at a facility elsewhere on the lake.

Stuart Lake Campground

Also part of the national forest, Stuart Lake is 14 miles north of Alexandria and has a small eight-site campground. RVs are permitted, but there are no hookups available for them. The only camping facilities there are a shower house. The campground has barbecue grills and fire rings, open water swimming, fishing from both the lakeshore and from a pier, and hiking and biking trails.

Cotile Lake Recreational Area

This municipal campground is situated only a few miles from Kincaid Lake. The campground accommodates RVs, but there are no hookups available for them. The facilities include picnic tables and barbecue grills, as well as a shower house. The recreation area's outdoor activities are limited to fishing and a lakeside swimming area.

Lucky 4B Ranch

The Lucky 4B Ranch is about 25 miles south of Alexandria. It has a mix of sites for RV and tent camping, as well as rental cabins. The RV sites are in themselves a mix, with some having full hookups while others have only water and electrical. However, there is a dump station for those who are using a site without a sewage hookup. As the name implies, the ranch is horse-friendly and has stables, as well as access to 88 miles of riding trails in Kisatchie National Forest. There are also staged Wild West re-enactment shows.
