Warrenton, Ga., is about a two-hour drive east of Atlanta and one hour from Oconee National Forest. The J. Strom Thurmond Reservoir is a short trip to the north. The area is a popular destination for mountain biking, hiking and camping. The 18-hole Boulders Golf Course is nearby, along with hunting reserves and fishing on the Ogeechee River.

Rocky Comfort Plantation RV Park is near golf, horseback riding, fishing and hunting. The campground has a sheltered picnic area and lake. Sites are pull-thru with full hookups and 30- or 50-amp electric. Shopping in August is 45 minutes away.

Boss' RV Park

The park is southeast of Warrenton in Wrens. Hamburg State Park is nearby, along with hiking, hunting and historical sites. The campground has a picnic shelter, Wi-Fi, grassy play areas and restrooms. Boat rentals are also available. Sites come with full hookups, including electricity, cable, phone and picnic tables. Selected sites are pull-thru.

The North Shore Resort

The resort is west of Warrenton in Greensboro. It has a boat ramp, picnic area with grills, cabins and clubhouse with full kitchen. Amenities include activities at Lake Oconee, pool tables, arcade, basketball, miniature golf, playgrounds, two pools and planned recreation. Sites have full hookups with 30- or 50-amp electric.
