RV Parks in Star Valley, Wyoming

Wyoming's Star Valley runs more or less along the state's western border, from south of Jackson Hole to the small town of Auburn. This picturesque area developed as an important dairy and agricultural producer; today, tourism and recreation are also an important part of the local economy. The area is a haven for lovers of the outdoors; visitors have access to a wide range of activities, including whitewater rafting, kayaking, fishing and hiking. Waputi Village RV Park in Alpine gives guests access to a variety of water sports, including fishing and rafting on the Salt River and boating at Palisades Reservoir. The RV park offers full hookups and wide-open views of the Star Valley. This facility invites horse lovers to bring their horses and explore the valley.

Star Valley Ranch Resort RV Park

The Star Valley Ranch Resort is a seasonal facility that opens in May of the year. The RV park features pull-through sites with full hookups. Picnic tables set on grassy lawns invite outdoor living. The resort features a spacious clubhouse for group activities and an 18-hole golf course, as well as a pool, tennis courts and a playground.

Flat Creek RV Park and Cabins

Open year-round, Flat Creek RV Park and Cabins in Thayne offers 31 camping sites, 23 that have full hookups, including 30-amp and 50-amp electric service. Guests have access to on-site laundry facilities and the park sells propane.

National Forest Campgrounds

There are a number of Forest Service campgrounds in the Bridger-Teton and Caribou-Targhee National Forests--in the area of Star Valley south of Jackson Hole. Most of them make fresh water available to campers but offer no other services (no septic or electric hookups). The Forest Service advises campers that this is bear country, and that clean camping techniques are recommended. These campgrounds are not suitable for large rigs.
