From western heritage to outdoor activities and an active art scene, Amarillo, Texas, has much to offer its visitors. The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and Museum, Wildcat Bluff Nature Center, Amarillo Botanical Gardens, Opera, Symphony and Museum of Art are some examples of Amarillo's attractions. None, however, is more visited than Palo Duro Canyon State Park, located 30 miles south of Amarillo and home to the second largest canyon in the United States. The Canyon is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts with opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and rock climbing.

Located just off historic Route 66, Amarillo KOA offers its campers an Amarillo accommodation that is close to many attractions in and around Amarillo. Located in the east side of Amarillo, Amarillo Ranch RV Park provides its campers with an Amarillo accommodation that is in the heart of the city's attractions. Splash Amarillo Water Park is within walking distance from the park, and the famous Big Texan Ranch, where you can get a 72-ounce steak for free if you can eat it within an hour, is 1 mile from the campground. Amarillo Ranch RV Park has 140 full-service RV sites with cable TV and Internet hookups available. The park features a heated indoor swimming pool with sauna and Jacuzzi, restrooms with showers, laundry facility, common patio, full kitchen and a pavilion with grills.
