A stay at one of the RV parks in Knoxville, Tennessee, places you within just minutes of a host of outdoor recreational activities. There are 7.5 miles of fun biking the I.C. King Park trails and the difficulty level depends upon how hard you want to make the trek. The nearby Clinch River is full of truly monumental brown and rainbow trout. The river is a perfect spot for those who enjoy spin and fly-fishing.

Southlake RV Park

Fairly maintained gravel roads take you to 90 full-hookup sites inside Southlake RV Park. The sites are mostly shaded by tall trees with four pull-in sites and the rest requiring back-in. Facilities include bathrooms, showers and a lodge with a wood burning stove where you can pick up live bait for you fishing trip to the Clinch River. You can also pick up RV supplies and paperback books. If you don't want to make the trip to the river, you can stay inside the park and take a swim in the Crystal River, which surrounds the park on two sides. The Tennessee River also is nearby for fishing, swimming and boating.

Volunteer Park Family Campground

Paved roads in good shape take you to the 140 sites inside Volunteer Park Family Campground. Of these 140 sites 42 are pull-through, 88 feature gravel pads and most are shaded by tall trees. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, a laundromat, a grocery store, an RV supply store and exercise room. This Knoxville RV campground offers a heated swimming pool, basketball court, horseshoes, rec hall and card room. The large wooded area has several nature trails for hiking, a playground for the kids and a clubhouse. You can also get repairs to your vehicle done on site. Opportunities for boating, camping, fishing and 15 miles of hiking trails are just 12 miles away at Big Ridge State Park.

Fox Inn Campground

A half hour away from Knoxville, you will find Fox Inn Campground. These are long, level and spacious pull-through sites equipped with 30/50 amp electricity, sewer, water and cable TV. Facilities include a laundromat with high capacity Maytag equipment. The swimming pool is open from May to October. There is also a large game room that is stocked with a pool table, foosball, air hockey and plenty of video games. The exercise room has a wealth of both aerobic and strength-training equipment. Other on-site recreational activities include courts for basketball and volleyball. Less than 10 miles away are the hiking trails, trout fishing and campsites at Norris Dam State Park.
