Campgrounds in Sweetwater, Tennessee
Set right off I-75 on the road between Knoxville and Chattanooga, Sweetwater, Tennessee, is located amid many outdoor attractions. To the west are the Tennessee River and Watts Bar Lake, while to the east is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With so many opportunities for hiking, biking, nature watching, boating and fishing in the area, Sweetwater is a good place for an outdoors enthusiast to look for campgrounds.

Sweetwater KOA

Like most KOAs, the Sweetwater campground offers a mix of RV and tent camping sites, as well as rental cabins. There are two tent areas, one located near the front and the other at the back of the property. The rear tent area is on the banks of the KOA's pond and near the walking trails. Free WiFi is available at the campground, and its features and facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, camp kitchen, volleyball court, playground and firewood sales.

Tennessee Country Campground

Tennessee Country Campground is conveniently located right off I-75, less than five miles south of the Sweetwater exit. The campground has a pitch of several acres for tent camping. The facilities include a game room, free WiFi access, shower house, coin laundry and propane cylinder exchange. The campground is also pet-friendly and is open all year.

Hornsby Hollow Campground

Situated about 10 miles to the west of Sweetwater on the shores of Watts Bar Lake, Hornsby Hollow offers a mix of lightly wooded lakefront and lake-view sites for tents and RVs. The campground counts among its features and facilities two swimming beaches, a playground, a fishing dock and a boat ramp. It also has a dump station, a camp store and bait shop, a coin laundry, and three bathhouses. Hornsby Hollow is also pet-friendly, although dogs are required to stay on a leash.
